Judith (MacGregor) Thompson, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away in Brockton on Tuesday February 2, 2016. She was 82 years old and the beloved wife of over 65 years to John R. Thompson. She was also a loving mother to James T. Thompson and his wife Jasmine B. of Brockton, Catherine A. Thompson of Norwood, Cynthia J. Goodman and her husband Mark of Effingham, South Carolina and Lee Ann Thompson of Stoughton. Other survivors include her sister Joan MacGregor Moses of Savanna, Georgia, her brother Charles P. MacGregor and his wife Ruth of Arizona, her 4 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren. She was also a sister to the late Jean Ravenscroft.
Born December 31, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts she was a daughter to the late Charles P. and Genevieve (Solaz) MacGregor. She attended Boston Public Schools and the former Mission Hill High School. She was employed for many years by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue as a Customer Service Representative. Judy enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading. She also enjoyed animals. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2016 from 4 – 6 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Her celebration of life and funeral service will immediately follow at 6 P.M. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MSPCA, 1300 W. Elm Street Ext. Brockton, MA 02301 in Judy’s memory would be appreciated.
