Joe Avila

Joe Avila, a longtime resident of Stoughton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 18, 2016. He was 67 years old. His survivors include his daughter, Mary Lou (Avila) Garcia of Brockton, his grandchildren, Jaclyn Marie Coleman of Fall River, Destiny Love Teixeira of Brockton, Angel Prince Teixeira of Brockton, his sister Luisa daRosa of Florida and several nieces and nephews also in Florida. He was also a brother to the late Antonio Avila and Mary Jo Avila.

Born January 22, 1949 in Matriz, on the island of Fiail, Azores, Portugal , Joe was a son to the late Antonio Periera Avila and Luisa Constancio daSilva. He was a member of the Portuguese Air Force in his earlier years and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing soccer both in Portugal and here in the states. For many years he was the proud owner and operator – manager of European Style Cleaning Service in Stoughton. Joe was also a longtime member of Club Luiz De Camoes in Stoughton. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

At his families request all funeral services will be private.
