Robert F. Bingamon of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, following a period of failing health. He was 89 years old. Bob was the beloved husband of Barbara A. Bingamon for over 60 years.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, David Bingamon of South Easton and his girlfriend, Kerry Durso, Robin Harris and her husband David of North Easton and Cynthia Celia and her husband George of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zachary, Jared and Noah Celia and Daniel and Michael Bingamon, as well as his great grandchildren, Aiden, Charlie and Natalie Bingamon. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Roy Bingamon of Braintree and the late Dorothy Stamulis.

Bob was raised in Boston and attended schools in Roxbury and Brookline. As a Veteran of WWII, he served as a Seaman in the United States Navy, and was stationed in both Texas and Florida. An auto mechanic by trade, Bob worked for several garages and auto dealerships, most recently Muzi Ford of Needham, before retiring in 1992. He was a model train collector and also enjoyed playing the organ and watching the Boston Bruins and Red Sox. He was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton.

A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at the First Congregational Church of Stoughton, 76 Pierce Street, Stoughton,MA on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, National Processing Center, PO BOX 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007-9976 or at ccfa.org.
