Virginia M. "Ginny" Boomhower of Norwood and Westwood, MA, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025 after a long illness. Born on October 3, 1947 Brookline, MA to John F. and Helen (Hopkins) McGovern, Ginny is survived by her beloved children, Danielle Frane and husband Thomas, and her son Nicholas J. Boomhower, her granddaughters Haley Marie Frane, Olivia Elaine Frane, and Chloe and Tori Boomhower all brought her immense joy. Ginny loved her grand pups, Daisy and Mama. She is also survived by her siblings Louise Fitzsimmons of Plymouth and Joseph and Joan McGovern of Milton. She was preceded in death by her brothers John F. McGovern Jr. of New York, and Edward M. McGovern of Weymouth.
Ginny was proud to call herself a Double Eagle, having graduated with a B.A. in 1994, and later her MBA in 2004 from Boston College. She retired from Department of Veterans' Affairs. Ginny treasured her time spent with family on vacations in Naples, FL, but she especially enjoyed her 9 trips to Disney World where she delighted in sharing her grandchildren's joy.
Per Ginny's wishes, all funeral related services will be private.
