Obituary
Thomas J. Burns a longtime resident of Stoughton passed away in Norwood on Sunday August 6th, 2023. He was 82 years old and the beloved husband of over 60 years to the late Loretta T. (Constantine)Burns. He was the loving father of Jeanne Bergdoll of Hyde Park,MA, Denise Palermo and her husband Peter of N. Kingstown, RI, Kathleen Gonatas and her husband Dean of Plainville,MA and Thomas D. Burns and his wife Sharon of Norfolk,MA. Other survivors include his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Stephanie, Megan, Alex, Jason, Ryan, Emma, his great-grandchild David. He was predeceased by his brothers Francis and Donald Burns as well as his sister Joyce (Burns)Keegan.
Born March 3, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts Tom was a son to the late Francis J. and Catherine G. (Buckley)Burns. He was a produce manager for the Roche Bros company for 32 years before opening a small florist business which he continued to operate for 17 years.
Tom’s funeral service will be held on Thursday August 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10a.m. -12p.m.. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations to: The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O.
