It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Grayce Moran, age 69, who succumbed to terminal cancer on November 28th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Susan was born in Boston on August 16th, 1956, to the late Conchetta G. (Antonelli) Moran and Joseph P. Moran. She worked at the Christmas Tree Shop for many years and Paramount Cleaners in Brockton before retiring. Susan was a vibrant spirit with an unfiltered personality, known for her ability to light up a room with her infectious laughter, smile and playful antics. She had a zest for life that was evident in her love for shopping, dressing up and playing pranks, as well as her deep appreciation for sunflowers, which symbolized her sunny disposition.
Susan's heart was especially full when it came to her nieces and nephews, whom she cherished every single one of them deeply. Her firstborn niece, Melissa, served as her healthcare proxy, being a source of comfort and strength during her illness. A loyal presence in Susan's life, Melissa was a testament to the unwavering bond they shared.
Her godchild, Coni, held a special place in Susan’s heart, with memories of laughter and adventures that will forever resonate. In her days at the hospice center, Coni made it a priority to ensure that Susan had all the necessities she needed. She went to great lengths to have all kinds of food available, always thinking of her aunt.
Susan was particularly proud of her youngest niece, Chelsie, and her love for Chelsie's daughter, Kalani, and newborn baby boy Jack. The joy of being a great-aunt brought Susan immense happiness, especially as she watched her family grow. She frequently expressed her excitement sending videos to people of these precious moments in their lives.
Additionally, her nieces Laura and Piper, whom her late sister Linda and brother-in-law John adopted through foster care, were another source of joy for Susan. She showered them with love and attention, creating a family bond grounded in care and support. This extended to all her great-nieces and nephews, whose birthdays she lovingly commemorated with thoughtful gifts, making sure each child felt special and cherished, including their beloved pets.
Susan’s twin sisters, Marie and Mervina, stood by her side through thick and thin, while thoughts of her late sister, Linda Marchant, who passed away previously, filled Susan with anticipation of being reunited one day. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Moran, and her sister Linda Marchant, leaving behind her living siblings: James Moran, (Tina Moran), twin sisters Mervina Johnson, (Earl Johnson), and Marie Saraceno, (Michael Saraceno), Brother-in-law, John Marchant (Linda Marchant), & sister-in-law Anne Moran, (Joseph Moran). They will forever hold dear memories of their time with Susan.
Special gratitude is extended to her home nurse Marie, Alliance West Acres Rehabilitation/Hospice Center nurses & staff, Old Colony Hospice and Dr. Pai, her oncologist at Tufts Medical Hospital in Boston, along with the incredible team of physicians who provided unwavering care throughout her battle with cancer. Their dedication allowed Susan to maintain her fierce spirit and sense of humor even in her final days.
Cousin Donna Parma was the yin to Susan's yang, and their bond brought laughter and joy to both their lives. Donna’s daughter Angela Parma visited Susan often and made sure her hair and makeup were done. Another bright light in Susan’s life was her good friend Jennifer Tower. She brought her friend meals she loved and was there when Susan took her final breath. As we remember Susan, we celebrate the legacy of love, kindness, and the importance of family that she instilled in each of us. Her family was her greatest gift, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A memorial service for Susan will be held on Saturday December 13th, at 1:00 pm from the Sheehan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton, MA, to honor the remarkable life of Susan Grayce Moran. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the sunflowers she adored and the family she cherished so deeply.
