Shirley Ann (Corbett) Dolloff, a lifelong proud resident of Stoughton, passed away peacefully at the home of her son in East Falmouth, MA on Sunday May 18, 2025. She was 93 years old and the beloved wife of the late Lawrence C. Dolloff (Ret. Dep. Chief SFD.) Her survivors include her two loving children, Laureen Dolloff – Jasmin of East Falmouth and Mark W. Dolloff (Ret. Chief SFD) and his wife Teresa Marques Dolloff of East Falmouth. Other survivors include her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Jasmin of East Falmouth, Marissa Dolloff of North Carolina and Lucas Dolloff and his husband Joseph of Florida. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Shirley was born February 28, 1932, in Stoughton, Massachusetts and was the youngest of fourteen children to the late Wiliam S. Corbett and Marion (Holbrook) Corbett. She was preceded in death by her siblings William, Harold, George, Roy, Flora, Dorothy, Gladys, Maude, Lawrence, Ernie, Robert, Arthur, and Marjorie. She attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Shirley had a 26-year career as the financial secretary for the superintendent of Stoughton schools. Additionally, she was a bookkeeper for the family business. Shirley was a longtime devoted member of The First Parish Unitarian–Universalist Church in Stoughton. She was also a member of the Stoughton Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, former secretary/treasurer of the Dry Pond Cemetery Association. Shirley also enjoyed reading, boating, fishing, and water aerobics at Old Colony Y in Easton, MA.
In retirement she enjoyed Caribbean cruises with her sisters as well as traveling throughout the United States and participating in her husband’s naval ship reunions. In typical Shirley fashion, she made new friendships wherever she went and remained in contact with them on a regular basis. She truly had a knack for prioritizing and maintaining friendships. She was a resolute student who took pride in attaining straight A’s throughout her high school career. Her classmates described her as popular, respected, dependable, and determined and those qualities rang through strongly throughout her life. Spending quality time with family, especially her grandchildren, was particularly important to her. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
