Robert Everett “BOB”  Corbett, a United States Army Veteran of WWII, accomplished musician and lifelong resident of Stoughton passed away at home on Monday November 30, 2015. He was 93 years old and the beloved husband of over 60 years to Lois V. (Ledin) Corbett. Besides his caring wife he is survived by his loving daughter Bonnie J. Eardley of Stoughton, his two cherished  grandchildren, Kevin C. Eardley of Avon, Kristin J. Souza of Mansfield, his sister Shirley A. Dolloff of Stoughton and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was also a brother to the late William Marden, Arthur Corbett, Maude Sawyer, Gladys Morris, Doris Fobes, Flora Holmes, Ernest Corbett, Harold Corbett, Roy Corbett, George Corbett, Lawrence Corbett and Marge Boutilier. He was also a great companion to his late black lab “Buttins”.

Born at home in Stoughton on February 28, 1922 he was a son to the late William S. and Marion (Holbrook) Corbett. He attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1941 graduate of Stoughton High School. PVT. Corbett was stationed overseas during the Southwest Pacific Theater and served with 304th Army Service Forces Band at the Walter Reed General Hospital as a saxophone player, played an Alto and Baritone Saxophone and was familiar with military concert and dance songs. He later attended the New England Conservatory Of Music  and obtained his Bachelor Of Music Degree in 1950 and then to the State Teachers College in Bridgewater where he received his Master of Education Degree in 1958.  

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday December 3, 2015 from 4 P.M. – 7 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. His funeral service will be held on Friday December 4, 2015 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Mary L. Perry, officiating.  Burial with United States Army military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Stoughton Food Pantry, Stoughton,MA 02072 or the Stoughton Veteran’s Affairs Office, C/O Mike Pazyra, 10 Pearl Street, Stoughton in Bob’s memory, would be appreciated.
