RICHARD GIBBS

Richard J. Gibbs, 90, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, August 10, 2025 after a period of failing health. He was the son of Harland Gibbs and Jennie Wallan Gibbs, born in Stoughton MA, February 1, 1935.

Mr. Gibbs, a graduate of Camp Kiwanis Aquatic School, he was proud of his work for many years as a Qualified Swimming Instructor and water safety at Harris Pond, Stoughton MA where he had the vital role in teaching his students swimming techniques.·

He will be missed by the residents and staff of Rose Forte where he resided for many years, known for his witty personality and kind heart. He enjoyed participating in group activities at the Stoughton Council on Aging with dear friends on the staff and many friends in the Stoughton community. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

After cremation, friends are cordially invited to attend a celebration of life to be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 2:00pm at 4 Capen St. Community Center, Stoughton,.MA.
