Mary Christine Cook Obituary

Mary Christine Cook (Chris) died peacefully on Saturday November 25 after a brief illness.  She grew up and spent most of her adult life in Milton before retiring to Cape Cod.  She was the youngest daughter of Rose (DeSantis) Farrington and Joseph Farrington.  She is survived by her brother Philip Farrington and his wife Pat of Dennis and her sister Rosemarie Franzie and her husband Jack of Plymouth.  She was an amazing aunt for her niece Betsy Farrington of Stoughton, nephew John Franzie and his fiancé Ashley Stoops of Plymouth, and her niece Jennifer (Franzie) Walsh and her husband Mike of Plymouth.  In her final years her greatest joy was her great nieces and nephew Hailey Farrington, Joseph Farrington, and Charli Rose Franzie.  She was blessed to have a 70+ year friendship with Rosemarie (Lopez) Broadford of Whitman.

Chris spent most of her professional career working for GMAC, the financial arm of General Motors.  She spent many years on the 48th floor of the Hancock tower working in and managing the Commercial Paper Division.  She later worked in lease processing and financing before taking an early retirement.  In her later years she worked for the Robert P. Wood and Company in Milton and Quincy Medical Center.

Chris had a passion for traveling and was always looking forward to her next trip.  She enjoyed numerous trips to Disney World, many cruises, tours of Italy but in retirement finally lived her dream of a trip to the Fairmont Hotels in the Colorado Rockies.  She loved being pampered at fancy hotels and never turned down an opportunity to visit a new Ritz Carlton.

Chris loved rock music and always had something playing.  She enjoyed everything, from afternoons of driving around in her Corvette with the music blaring to late nights watching MTV in hopes of seeing a Michael Jackson video.  She was a giant concert fan and loved to see every show she could.  Some of her favorites were Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, The Doors, and Motley Crue.  She spent her final summer with weekly concerts on the patio at her Assisted Living.  Her face would light up hearing her favorites songs as she spent her summer evenings on the dance floor.  Even as her mind failed her, Chris never forgot the words to her favorite songs.  These songs will bring back fantastic memories for all of us who loved her.
