Mark Richard Cushing was born November 27, 1953 in Boston Massachusetts and passed away on Thursday night June 19, 2025. After a brief illness.
Mark was a lifetong resident of Stoughton, with the exception of military service during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. Mark retired as a Lieutenant after more than 32 years as a Corrections Officer for the Massachusetts State Department of Corrections. Mark enjoyed his community at the Easton Rod and Gun Club along with Sundays attending Faith Baptist Church.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Melvin and mother Blanche Swanson Cushing. Mark is survived by his soulmate of 32 years Esther Yim, who will miss their daily walks, feeding the squirrels together and walks on the beach in Maine.
A wake will be held on Thursday June 26, 2025, from 4 p.m. -7 p.m. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The funeral service will be held on Friday June 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. from the Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton Street, Stoughton. The Rev. Jason Ingle, officiating. Burial with United States Army military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
