Laura Jane Ryan, 37, passed away on November 2, 2019. She is survived by her sweet daughter Alayna Jane Ryan (7). She is also survived by her father Peter Ewald, brother Brendan Ewald, and sister Deidra Ewald. Laura was preceded in death by her mother Mary Jane Ewald in 1999.
Laura was a longtime resident of Stoughton, and graduated from Stoughton High School in 2000. Laura went on to earn a degree as a Radiologic Technologist, and furthered her education to become an Ultrasound Technician. She worked at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury for 15 years.
Her bright smile, sense of humor, and caring heart helped her to connect with all who knew her. Laura wouldn't hesitate to:
Tell you how much she loved her daughter;
Jump on stage and try to sing with the band;
Laugh at herself and all her quirks, flaws and insecurities;
Have a friends back if things started to get tense on the streets of Boston;
Create a list of things that she had to do (she would joke that she made lists for the things she had to make lists about);
Give you a piece of her mind if she was mad at you
Make amends with you just as quickly, and have a good laugh about it;
Enjoy a quiet moment of reflection;
Even in the midst of this tragedy, she would say: "Don't cry too much for me...think about our fun times and know that I love you....but you better cry a little, dammit!"
Her family would like her to know, "We love you too, Laura! We will cry and we will have the memories of you that will make us smile. Time for you to go be with Mom!"
A memorial service to celebrate Laura's life will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. from the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton.
