Lois Doubleday Howe a longtime resident of Stoughton formerly of Dedham, passed away in Brockton on August 14, 2023. She was 87 years old. Lois was the loving mother to the late Deborah Howe and Peter Howe. Her survivors include her beloved children, Timothy Howe and his wife Deb (Lyons) Howe of Plymouth, Stephen Howe and his girlfriend Sharon Ward of Stoughton, John Howe and his girlfriend Patty Simons of Stoughton, her sisters, Barbara Doubleday of Bloomville, New York, Sandra DeCosta and her husband Joseph of North Adams, MA, her grandchildren, Stephanie Jordan, Christine Howe, Kate Howe, Allie Howe, Connor Howe, Max Howe, Belle Howe, Tedrik Howe, Ioannis Kaklamanis, Petros Kaklamanis, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Born October 2, 1935 in Dana, Massachusetts Mrs. Howe was a daughter to the late Warren "Bun" and Sigrid (Manty) Doubleday. Lois attended and graduated from Glastonbury High School in Glastonbury, CT. She also graduated from Swarthmore College in 1957 with a degree in Political Science. She attended the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton and was involved in different local Christian groups. Lois loved card games, town politics and was a member of The Stoughton Redevelopement Authority back in the 1980's. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visiting hours with the Howe family will be held on Tuesday August 22, 2023 from 5 p.m-8 p.m. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton, A funeral service for Mrs. Howe will be held on Wednesday August 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton Street, Stoughton. The Pastor Stanley Schultz officiating. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
