John Anthony Pesta III

John Anthony Pesta III , a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away at home on Thursday September 28, 2006. He was 24 years old. He was the cherished son of John A. Pesta and Mary A. (Lally) Pesta also of Brockton.

John is also survived by his sister Darleen M. Sarrazin and her husband T.J. of Providence, Rhode Island, his Fiancee Amanda Helfrich of New York, his two nephews, Aaron and Aiden Serrazin also of Providence, Rhode Island, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

John was born December 22, 1981 in Stoughton at the former Goddard Memorial Hospital. He attended The Hancock Elementary School, The West Junior High School and was a 1998 graduate of Brockton High School.

He was employed as a Cook by various restaurants in the Brockton area which included The Town Spa in Stoughton and the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital's Kitchen in Brockton.

Mr. Pesta was a communicant of the former Our Lady Of The Rosary Church in Stoughton.

He was very active in scouting and was the proud recipient of the prestigious Boy Scouts Of America Eagle Scout Award in 1998. His other interests included computers, music and he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

His funeral will be held on Monday October 2, 2006 at 9:45 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial for the repose of his soul at 11:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Rt. 27 Stoughton. The Pastor Reverend Fr. Joseph P . McDermott officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Sunday October 1, 2006 from 4-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boy Scouts of America, Old Colony Council, 2438 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021 in John's memory, would be appreciated.
