John J. Hurst Jr.

John J. Hurst, age 63, of Stoughton, passed away at home on May 17, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. John was the beloved husband of Carolyn A. (Sciacca) Hurst for 39 years. Devoted father of John J. Hurst III and Pamela A. Bunker and her husband Jonathan all of Stoughton. Loving grandfather of Kyle and Alex Bunker. Brother of Patricia Grondell of Holbrook, Michael Hurst and his wife Alda of Arizona, and Brian Hurst of Connecticut. John was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey and raised Braintree. He was the son of the late John (Jack) and Patricia Hurst of Braintree. John worked for The Boston Globe for 28 years and was a whiz with computers. However, there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons. A memorial service will be celebrated Wednesday, May 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, Stoughton.
