Jerry Ziegler

Jerry Ziegler of Stoughton MA, formerly of Hyde Park, MA, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at age 82, following a short battle with kidney disease. Loving Husband of the late Charlotte Ziegler. Loving brother. Loving father of Marc Ziegler, Rick Ziegler, and the late Mitchell Ziegler. Loving Grandfather of Katherine Ziegler and Brian Ziegler. Loving Great Grandfather of Charlotte Ziegler. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his loving caretaker Laura Kearns. 

Jerry came to the USA through Ellis Island in 1954 fleeing war after surviving as a Jew in Hungary. He came with his sister, leaving in the middle of the night after his friends were shot in the street for toppling a statue. He had been involved and his sister thought he would be next. His name was Jonner but became Jerry in English. When he met Charlotte Sandberg, he said he was instantly in love. He told stories of how he won her over with inappropriate jokes and his silly nature. He loved bingo, soccer, Foxwoods and Chinese food. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Jerry will be laid to rest privately in Lindwood Memorial Park, Randolph, MA. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at the home of  Rick Ziegler, 80 Lincoln St. Stoughton, MA on Saturday June 5, 2021 from noon to 4pm.
