Obituary

Janet Frances Jervinis a longtime resident of Canton passed away on August 24, 2020. She was 83 years old and the beloved wife of George Jervinis. She is also survived by her children, Stephanie Erwin and husband Greg of Danvers,MA and Matthew G. Jervinis and wife Jill of Salem,MA. Other survivors include her brother, Col. Edward I. Hickey Jr. (Ret. U.S. Army)  and wife Carol of Cotuit, MA and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Erwin, Eva Jervinis, Sofia Jervinis and Lucien Jervinis.  

Born May 23, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts, Janet was a daughter to the late Edward and Frances (Rawson) Hickey. She had been employed as a Teacher for the City of Boston since 1960 and was the recipient of many teaching related awards. She enjoyed arts and crafts. 

A funeral service for Mrs. Jervinis will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2020 at 11 A.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 115 Monk St. Stoughton. Inurnment will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery Columbariam in Canton,MA.  Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.  NOTE: Per the MA Governors State mandate Facial Coverings and Social Distancing requirements are still in effect. Thank you. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory can be made to the Angell Animal Medical Center, 350 S. Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
