Helen Corbett Obituary

Helen J. (Chisholm) Corbett of West Bridgewater and former longtime resident of Stoughton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday December 31, 2021 at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was 99 years old and the beloved wife of the late Lawrence S. Corbett. She is survived by her loving daughter Janice Ross and her husband Robert of West Bridgewater, her daughter in law, Donna Corbett of South Easton, her 5 grandchildren, Lynda Corbett of West Pawlet,Vermont, Michelle McFarland and husband Matthew of Windsor,Vermont, Tracy Chiruna and husband Christopher of Lakeville,MA Jeffrey Ross of Bridgewater, MA, Keith Ross and wife Lisa of Halifax,MA, her 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Helen was a loving mother to the late Bruce Corbett and a loving sister to the late Donald Chisholm, Robert Chisholm and Richard Chisholm.

Born March 31, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts Helen was a daughter to the late George E. and Elizabeth (Stone) Chisholm. Mrs. Corbett was employed as a Waitress for many years at the former Leonard’s Restaurant in Brockton. Since her early childhood days Helen was a devoted and active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton. She was very involved with the church’s Friendship Club, Shufflers Group and the Bargain Box where she made many friends. She was also employed by the former Stoughton Pennysaver and enjoyed knitting. Helen will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mrs. Corbett’s funeral service will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 11a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner Street, Stoughton. The Rector Fr. Harry Walton officiating. Burial will follow at South Easton Cemetery, 473 Washington Street, South Easton. A public wake / visitation with the family will be held prior to the funeral service from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s memory to the Trinity Episcopal Church Building Fund, 414 Sumner Street, Stoughton,MA 02072.
