Ernesto c Monteiro

Ernesto Cunha “ERNIE” Monteiro a longtime resident of Stoughton passed away on Saturday September 7, 2019  in Fall River at the home of his daughter with  loving family members by his side. He was 67 years old. He is survived by his children, Ernesto Monteiro and wife Olga of Taunton, Susana Pacheco and husband Victor of Fall River and Michael Monteiro of also of Taunton. Other survivors include his sisters Irene Faria and husband Frank of Stoughton,  Madalena Rego and husband Joao of Stoughton, his 4 grandchildren, Vanessa Viveiros, Isaac Viveiros, Ava Monteiro and Isabel Monteiro. His nieces and nephews, Sandra Rego, Dennis Rego, Frank Faria, Adam Faria, Christine Roberts, Alex Rodrigues, Mellissa Mansfield and Mandy Glenden. He was also a brother to the late Joao de Cunha Monteiro and Jose Louis Figueiredo.

Born April 13, 1952 in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, Ernie was a son to the late Miguel Monteiro Figueiredo and Maria de Conceicao Resendes Cunha Figueiredo. He attended public schools in Santa Maria and was a former member of the Portuguese Military. Ernesto was also a self – employed landscaper and handyman.  Mr. Monteiro was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was also a dedicated member of the Portuguese National Club in Stoughton. He also  enjoyed fishing and spent many hours volunteering at the yearly Our Lady Of Fatima Feast. Ernie will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visiting hours and celebration of Ernies life will be held on Thursday September 12, 2019 from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Funeral Prayers will be offered by Fr. Eduardo Marques at approximately 7:00 P.M. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernies memory can be Made to The James E. “Jake” Hoffman Memorial Fund, 84 Columbus Avenue, Stoughton, MA 02072.
