Obituary

David Roy Chamberlin of North Easton, formally of Avon, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, surrounded by his daughters. He was the devoted husband of over 53 years to the late Beverley J. Chamberlin and the beloved father of Elizabeth S. Chamberlin, Ph.D. of Brighton, MA, and Christine L. Chamberlin-Beaudet and her husband Joseph of Brockton, MA. Other survivors include his two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth H. Courtney and her husband John, Robin L. Meyer and her husband David both of Coxsackie, New York, and several nieces and nephews.

David was born on May 30, 1944, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to the late Roy W. and Barbara Chamberlin. He graduated from Avon Technical High School in 1963 and returned to school in 1996 to earn an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Massasoit Community College. David served in the Navy from 1963 to 1966. After the Navy, he worked in the field of electronics, until he joined the Stoughton Police Department in 1975. David held many positions throughout his 30-year tenure–Patrol Officer, K-9 Officer, Sergeant, Detective, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Acting Chief. He served the people of Stoughton with honor and was known for his integrity. After retirement, David became a private investigator and launched his own business, David Chamberlin Security. When he was not sleuthing on a case, he took exceptional care of his wife and two daughters and played many rounds of golf with his two best friends. David will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Funeral services for Mr. Chamberlin will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. also in the funeral home. The Pastor from Faith Baptist Church, Stoughton officiating. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
