Barbara A. Bingamon of Stoughton, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23,
following a period of failing health. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Bingamon
for over 60 years. Barbara was raised and educated in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde
Park High School. Following their marriage, she and Bob settled in Stoughton where they raised
their three children. Barbara worked for several years at Morse Shoe and Lyne Laboratories.
She was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton, where she
served faithfully. Barbara loved Cape Cod and the ocean, as well as reading, gardening,
listening to country music, and spending time with her grandchildren. In their younger years, she
and Bob enjoyed traveling the country via road trips with their children. Barbara is survived by
her loving children, David and his fiance Kerry Durso, Robin Harris and her husband David, and
Cynthia Celia and her husband George. She is also survived by five grandsons, four great
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Priscilla West and the
late Elinor Weston. Barbara was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed by all who
knew her. A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at the First Congregational Church of
Stoughton, 76 Pierce Street, Stoughton, MA on Thursday, July 1, at 2:00 PM. Relatives and
friends are respectfully invited to attend. For the safety of all guests, masks are requested for
those who have not received a COVID-19 vaccination. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s
memory may be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org) or
the charity of your choice.
