Mary Frances Gilday

Mary Frances (Archambault) Gilday, a long time resident of Stoughton, formerly of Brockton, passed away on Saturday August 25, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 89 years old and the beloved wife of over 63 years to Walter. M Gilday. Other survivors include her two loving children Janet Waldmann and husband Richard of Milton, Christopher F. Gilday of Stoughton, her two cherished grandchildren, Clarissa M. Waldmann and Jonathan T. Waldmann both of Milton and cousin Betsy Cambron of Deland, Florida. 

Born February 15, 1929 in Brockton, Massachusetts, Mary was the only child of the late Frederick and Kathryn (Hennessey) Archambault. She attended and graduated from the former St. Patrick's Catholic School in Brockton. She also attended and received her Secretarial Certificate from the former Burdett School in Boston and was employed by Plymouth County Extension Services for several years. She was a member and attended St. James Catholic Church in Stoughton. Her hobbies included going to the beach and her love of Cocker Spaniels.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 30, 2018 from 5 P.M.- 7 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Her funeral will be held on Friday August 31, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of her soul at 10:15 A.M. in St. James Church, 560 Page Street, Stoughton. Fr. Will Sexton officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.
