Jose T. DaSilva of Stoughton passed away on Thursday December 12, 2019. He was 91 years old and the beloved husband of the late Helena A. (Rosa) DaSilva. He was the loving father of Maria I. (DaSilva) Eduardo and her husband Celestino and Branca H. DaSilva all of Stoughton. Other survivors include his sister Oliva Pinheiro of Portugal and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also a brother to the late Maria C. Escobar, Ana Silva, Filomena Silva, Laura Silva, Alice Bettencourt, Amelia DaSilva, Luis T. DaSilva, Irene Silva and Norberto Silva.
Born December 8, 1928 in Faial, Azores, Portugal, Jose was a son to the late Jose F. and Ana DaSilva. He was a factory worker for many years at the former Fenton Shoe Company in Cambridge. He was also a member of the Portuguese Army and a communicant of The Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Jose will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His funeral mass will be held on Monday December 16, 2019 at 12 noon in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton. The Rev. Jose Eduardo Marques officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Visiting hours will be held prior to the mass from 9:30 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. All are welcome to attend.
