Horacio F. Marques

Horacio F. Marques, a resident of Stoughton for over 42 years passed away at home surrounded by his wife and loving family on Thursday October 4, 2018. He was 74 years old and the beloved husband of Maria (Romeiro) Marques. Other survivors include his children, Eduardo, Fernanda, Paulo, Antonio, Mario, Marinela, his 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and his 3 sisters, Zelia, Lucy and Nelia. He was also a brother to the late Armando Marques, Mario Marques and Joe Marques.

Born April 13, 1944 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, Horacio was a son to the late Horacio F. Marques Sr. and Regina (Martins) Marques. He was employed as a Machine Operator for the former Phillips Screw Manufacturing Company in Stoughton for over 20 years. He was also a communicant and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Mr. Marques was a past President of several feasts and fundraisers held at the Immaculate Conception Church. Helping the church was Horacio’s passion. He was also very proud of his Portuguese heritage. He loved to help others, no matter what the circumstances were. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

His funeral mass will be held on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton. Visiting with the family will be held prior to the mass from 9 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. FLOWERS ARE WELCOME.
