Everett Albert Ceruti, a World War II Veteran, dedicated “Family Man” and lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away at home with his daughter by his side on Thursday February 9, 2017. He was 95 years old and the beloved husband of the late Esther L. (Peterson) Ceruti who passed away in 2015. He is survived by his loving daughter Katherine E. Ceruti of Stoughton, his sister Virginia “Ginny” Bennett of Arizona, his brother, John Ceruti of Stoughton, many nieces, nephews and 2 very good friends, Mr. Robert Bellay and Mrs. Dawn Bellay of Stoughton. He was also a brother to the late Geneveive Wallace and Joseph Ceruti.
Born June 25, 1921 at home in Stoughton, Massachusetts, Everett was a son to the late Joseph B. and Rose Elizabeth (Green) Ceruti. He attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1940 graduate of Stoughton High School. Mr. Ceruti proudly served his country as a Medical Technician Specialist with the United States Army during WWII and was Honorably discharged in 1945. Mr. Ceruti was employed as a Manager by the former Belcher Last Co. in Stoughton for many years and was also a Stoughton Little League Baseball Coach. His hobbies included golfing, bowling and watching football games. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday February 16, 2017 from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. His funeral service will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill, officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater,MA 02379 in Everett’s memory, would be appreciated.
