Dennis F. Casey Jr.

Retired Captain of the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Center Dennis F.  Casey Jr. a longtime resident of Weymouth, formerly of Boston, passed away on Monday December 2, 2019 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was 60 years old and the beloved husband of over 35 years to Josie (Devito) Casey. Other survivors include his two loving sisters Diane McKeen of Quincy, El Casey and husband Mark Hannigan of Milton, his niece Kerry McKeen, his mother and father in law, Rocco and Maria Devito of Hingham, his sister in law Daniela Sampson,  her husband Mark and their daughter Sofia of Hingham, his two longtime friends Stephen Linskey of Quincy, Dominic Denizio of West Roxbury, his furbaby Romeo and all his co-workers and friends at the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office in Dedham.

Born June 11, 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts Dennis was a son to the late Dennis F. Casey Sr. and Kathleen M. (Kirrane). He attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of Don Bosco High School. He also attended Northeastern University and received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Dennis was employed by the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Center for 32 years.  Affectionately known as “The Cobra” Dennis was loyal to a fault and was a great shift leader / supervisor.  He was the proud recipient of the 2015 Corrections Officer of the Year Award. He cherished spending time with family and friends, bird watching, fishing and Karaoke.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A funeral mass and celebration of Dennis’ Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday January11, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 1203 Commercial Street, Weymouth. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be in Dennis' memory, made to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital ICU, 75 Francis Street, Boston, MA 02115.
